This course introduces computational thinking, programming and the foundations of data science. Students learn to solve practical problems using basic data structures, C++ and Python, with an introduction to databases, data analytics and machine learning.

This Semester 1 course is included in the Bioinformatics & Computational Sciences Diploma. For the upcoming cohort, access is provided through diploma enrolment in My Learning.

  • No final project
  • Overall passing grade: 60%
  • All mandatory components must be completed.
  • One reassessment or resubmission opportunity is available for a failed mandatory assessment.
